Light over darkness by Tom Henderix

Yesterday was supposed to be a beautiful day. The sun was shining, a low cloud layer was making it's way past Belgium, promising a nice sunny afternoon. Fifteen minutes after I took these images, while we were deboarding the aircraft, two bombs went off at the other side of the terminal.

While the pictures I made seem to foreshadow dark clouds, the only thing I can see in them is the light, piercing the darkness...

It's not always sunshine and rainbows... by Tom Henderix

Less than 250 meters of visibility looks like this. Still double of what we need to be able to take off.

Nice sunset, sadly, behind us...

But in the end, found something worth snapping a picture of. Somewhere along the Portuguese-Spanish border.

Sophie, part three by Tom Henderix

Same day as part two, this time some black and white images.

All images shot on the Fujifilm X-T1 & 56 1.2 APD.

Sophie, part two by Tom Henderix

A year ago we had our first collaboration. Sadly, the weather prevented what we intended to shoot, but we improvised and shot some casual shots. Wind and long hair makes for some interesting effects...

Dusk by Tom Henderix

Six days of grey skies and nothing but boring landscapes, and then you get lucky for a few minutes...

And yes, cockpit windows are usually quite dirty. That's what makes taking pictures from the flight deck less than straightforward.

Fujifilm X-T1, 50-140 2.8.

Another week, Mont Blanc again by Tom Henderix

Inbound Geneva this morning, enjoying the sunrise over Mont Blanc. Painting in the sky courtesy of some moisture and the sun.

I brought my zoom for once. It's a tad too heavy and big for my liking, but the benefit is much more range compared to the 56 1.2 APD that's normally attached to my X-T1. The OIS helps keep the ISO down, I shot comfortably at 1/30th without issues.

Fujifilm X-T1, 50-140 2.8.

More wide shots by Tom Henderix

Lyon on Christmas day, one from in flight, some Bilbao and a final one from Budapest...

Hasselblad Xpan, 45 f4. Film used was Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Tri-X 400. I still prefer the Ilford Delta 400 over Tri-X.
